Discovering the Future of Automation: Visit to ABB in Sant Quirze, BarcelonaHello to all those passionate about automation and industrial technology!
Recently I had the privilege of accompanying a group of students from the Institut Rambla Prim of Barcelona of the Higher Level Training Cycle in Electrotechnical and Automation Systems and Industrial Automation and Robotics, together with their teachers, in an extraordinary visit to the ABB facilities in Sant Quirze, Barcelona.
As a Vocational Training (VET) disseminator, this experience was truly enriching and it is a pleasure to share some of the highlights with you.
ABB, a multinational company specialized in the automation and energy sector, is a true reference in technological innovation and engineering excellence. From the moment we entered their facilities, it was clear that we were immersed in an environment where creativity, technical knowledge and a passion for excellence merge to shape the future of industry.
During our visit, we had the opportunity to explore first-hand the leading technologies that are driving industrial automation around the world. From advanced control systems to state-of-the-art robotic solutions, each step we took brought us closer to the heart of the innovation that drives ABB.
One of the most inspiring aspects of our visit was ABB’s commitment to training and professional development. They welcomed us with open arms and gave us a detailed overview of their internal training programs, as well as career opportunities for those looking to excel in this exciting field.
For our students, this experience was more than just a visit. It was an open window into the real world of industrial automation, where they were able to see firsthand how the knowledge acquired in the classroom is applied in a dynamic and challenging business environment.
As an advocate of vocational training, this visit reaffirmed my belief in the value of this type of practical experience as a complement to theoretical education.
ABB not only opened its doors, but also inspired us to dream big and to aspire perhaps in our future careers.
Our visit to ABB in Sant Quirze was a tangible reminder of the unlimited potential we have when education, industry and innovation come together in harmony.
