Matelec 2025 | My Experience at the Young Installers Competition: Talent, Industry, and the Future of Vocational Training

The Matelec 2025 trade fair once again became the essential meeting point for the electrical sector, and within this framework, I had the opportunity to visit and speak with the participants of the 18th Young Installers Competition, organized by FENIE – The World of the Installer.

This competition, year after year, demonstrates the enormous potential of Vocational Training in the fields of electricity and telecommunications.

The students, accompanied by their teachers and representatives from each of the 45 associations of installation companies across Spain, displayed an extraordinary level of technical skill. Precision, talent, commitment, and a clear focus on excellence were the values that defined this edition.

During my visit, I had the opportunity to interact with students, teachers, and professionals, sharing insights on the present and future of Vocational Training, new technological challenges, the digitalization of the sector, and the importance of strengthening collaboration between companies and educational institutions.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day was the awarding of the title to:

Carlos Larraz, Best New Installer 2025

A young professional who stood out for his brilliant execution, his attitude, and his ability to solve every challenge presented in the competition. His performance was supported by leading companies like FERMAX, demonstrating once again the fundamental role of the industry in the training and development of young talent.

Events like this confirm the importance of promoting vocational training as a catalyst for change towards a more qualified, innovative, and sustainable electrical sector. The future is in the hands of these young installers—and without a doubt, it’s in good hands.
