First Professional Talent Forum: Double Demand, Double Opportunity for Qualification and Employment

Today I had the opportunity to participate in the First Professional Talent Forum, organized by Talqual, led by Juanjo Torres and Fabián Mohedano. The event addressed one of our country’s greatest challenges: the real connection between people’s qualifications and the needs of the labor market.

Under the motto “double demand, double opportunity,” the forum provided a much-needed space for reflection on a reality I know well from my professional experience in Vocational Training, business, and talent development.

On the one hand, there is a growing demand from companies for qualified professionals.

On the other, thousands of young people and those undergoing retraining are seeking real opportunities for employment and professional development.

The key lies in connecting these two realities.

During the event, it became clear that it’s not just about providing more training, but about providing better training, with a shared vision among educational institutions, government agencies, and businesses. Training that incorporates:

the real needs of the productive sectors,

up-to-date technical skills,

and increasingly in-demand transferable skills.

In this context, Vocational Training and Dual Vocational Training are consolidating their position as one of the most effective tools for responding to this dual demand. This is not only due to their close ties with the business sector, but also to their capacity to generate meaningful, employable, and future-oriented training pathways.

I take away a very clear idea from this forum:
the transformation of the labor market cannot be addressed without a profound transformation of how we design, communicate, and promote professional qualifications.

Events like the 1st Talent Professional Forum are essential for moving towards a model where talent is not lost due to a lack of guidance, nor are companies hindered by a lack of trained professionals.

We continue working, across all sectors, to ensure that qualifications truly become a lever for opportunities for both individuals and companies.
