Finder introduces new expansion modules for OPTA

  • OPTA range expands with 3 new expansion modules, increasing the potential of the PLR
  • OPTA is a collaboration between Finder and Arduino Pro, which produces a new level of technology and offers multiple possibilities of use

The Finder OPTA range expands with 3 new expansion modules, increasing the potential of the PLR. These modules represent a significant advance in automation technology, offering greater flexibility and application possibilities.

OPTA expands its application possibilities thanks to the new expansion modules that are now available. OPTA is a collaboration between Finder and Arduino Pro, which offers a new level of technology and multiple possibilities of use.

The new expansion modules allow adding inputs and/or outputs to different automation projects, offering the possibility of connecting a maximum of 5 expansion modules per device, thus multiplying the inputs (up to 80 inputs for the digital version and 30 inputs for the analog version) and outputs (up to 40 for the digital version and 30 for the analog version).

Currently, the range includes the two digital expansion modules:

EMR DIGITAL EXPANSION TYPE 8A.58.9.024.1600

  • 16 digital/analog inputs (0…10 V)
  • 8 EMR outputs of 6 A
  • Supply voltage 12…24 V DC

SSR DIGITAL EXPANSION TYPE 8A.88.9.024.1600

  • 16 digital/analog inputs (0…10 V)
  • 8 SSR outputs of 2 A
  • Supply voltage 12…24 V DC
  • Analog expansion module features:

ANALOG EXPANSION TYPE 8A.26.9.024.0600

  • 6 analog inputs 0…10 V, 4…20 mA, PT 100/1000
  • 2 analog outputs 0…10 V, 4…20 mA, PT 100/1000 mA
  • 4 PWM outputs
  • Supply voltage 12…24 V DC

*Analog version available soon.

The connection between all modules is made through the AUX auxiliary port, allowing different combinations with a unique and unmatched level of project customization.

Like a traditional relay, a PLR (“Programmable Logic Relay”) can control the switching of electrical loads such as motors, valves or lights, based on input signals. A versatile solution that combines the simplicity of a relay with the power of a PLC (“Power Line Communications” or “programmable logic controller”), facilitating the automation of industrial processes in an efficient manner.

PLRs are designed to be flexible and adaptable to a variety of industrial applications, from small machines to more complex automation systems.

Thanks to their integrated design, they are compact and efficient in terms of space and energy consumption. In addition, they offer programming interfaces that allow users to configure the device’s actions precisely and adapted to the needs of each process.

3 VARIANTS FOR EVERY APPLICATION

To meet and exceed the expectations of all users, Finder OPTA is available in three versions:

· OPTA LITE with Ethernet or ModBus TCP/IP connectivity and USB programming port (type C)

· OPTA PLUS which also includes the RS485 communication interface

· OPTA ADVANCED, the most innovative and complete option, incorporates (in addition to RS485) an integrated module with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy communications

The three variants have a power range of 12 to 24 V DC, 8 inputs that can be used as digital or analog (0-10V) depending on the need, as well as 4 10A relay outputs with NO contact, USB type C for programming and data logging and RJ45 for Ethernet or ModBus connections.

POWER SUPPLY Type 78.12.1.230.2482

The Finder OPTA Type 78.12.1.230.2482 power supply is a compact and efficient solution designed for applications requiring 24 V DC. With an instantaneous current capacity of 2A and a power of 12 W, this device features a narrow design with a width of only 17.5 mm (equivalent to a module). It is equipped with multiple essential protections, including short-circuit protection, thermal protection and overvoltage protection, thus ensuring safe and reliable operation. In addition, it complies with SELV regulations, ensuring additional levels of safety in low voltage systems.

FINDER OPTA: INFINITE APPLICATION POSSIBILITIES

Thanks to the power of the device, the connectivity options and the large library of ready-to-use projects available in the Arduino IDE software, the application possibilities of FINDER OPTA are endless. Integrating OPTA into an existing project is easy and secure; for example, simply replicate existing programming, adding a remote connection (via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) to gain immediate added value.

Interoperability with existing Finder devices is also straightforward. Energy meters, contactors, switching power supplies, relays and many other devices can be connected to OPTA, keeping everything under control locally via HMI or remotely thanks to real-time dashboards that can be created using the intuitive Arduino Cloud platform (or third-party services).
