Discovering the COMFORP Foundation and the Real Value of Vocational Training

The latest edition of Motortec Madrid once again became a meeting point not only for the industrial and professional sectors, but also for dialogue and reflection on Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Spain.

In this context, I had the opportunity to hold a 13-minute conversation with Julio Velasco, VET teacher, trustee of the COMFORP Foundation, and one of the key figures behind its creation and development.

During our talk, we discussed what the COMFORP Foundation really is, why it was created, and what its mission is: to promote, support and dignify Vocational Training, placing teachers, students and talent-driven companies at the heart of the system.

We also reflected on the current state of VET in Spain, the challenges that still remain, and the importance of continuing to create spaces for genuine collaboration between training centres, educators, foundations and the business community.

Conversations like this are essential to break down stereotypes, provide perspective and remind society that VET is not a second choice, but a direct pathway to employment, professional development and national competitiveness.

I invite you to watch the full video and continue reflecting together on the present and future of Vocational Training.
