Discovering Escuela Profesional Xavier: a benchmark in Vocational Education with social mission and educational excellence

A visit to Escuela Profesional Xavier in Valencia reveals a model of innovation, social commitment and top-level vocational training promoted by Fundación Javerianas.

Visiting Escuela Profesional Xavier in Valencia has been an inspiring experience that confirms the crucial role of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in shaping the future of young talent.
I had the opportunity to discover the centre through José Fernando Andreu, Academic Director; Elisa Colomina, Head Director; and Óscar Boluda, trainer and ICT & Programmes Coordinator. Their passion and professionalism create a truly transformative educational environment.

A centre with deep roots, mission and values

Escuela Profesional Xavier was founded by the Javerianas (Javerian Institution), a religious congregation created in Madrid in 1941 by Jesuit Manuel Marín Triana.
Its original mission:
to accompany young working women or those preparing for employment, inspired by the missionary spirit of Saint Francis Xavier.

Since 1941, the Javerianas have carried out their educational and social mission throughout Spain, Colombia, Mexico and Algiers.

A network committed to equity and opportunity

The Javeriana Institution also runs centres in:

  • Portugalete (Biscay)
  • Barcelona
  • Madrid

In Valencia, Escuela Profesional Xavier is part of Fundación Javerianas and operates as a non-profit, publicly funded school, ensuring free education or financial support to avoid economic discrimination.

A true benchmark in Spanish VET

Its commitment to innovation, digitalisation, updated pedagogy, individual support and professional connection positions Escuela Profesional Xavier as a leading VET centre in Spain.

This is VET understood as a path to opportunity, empowerment and personal growth.
