«Building Dual Paths: The Present and Future of Vocational Training in Spain».

On February 18, I had the honor of giving a lecture at the emblematic Palau Macaya in Barcelona under the title: «Building Dual Paths: The Present and Future of Vocational Training in Spain».

In this space for reflection and dialogue, I shared a professional vision of Vocational Training (FP) in Catalonia and the Spanish State, based on my own experiences and on the evolution of a system that is key to economic and social development.

Throughout the presentation, I highlighted how FP has ceased to be a secondary option to consolidate itself as a quality alternative, adapted to the needs of the labor market and aligned with technological and productive transformations. We analyzed the importance of collaboration between educational centers and companies, the impact of digitalization and sustainability in training, and the crucial role of DUAL FP in preparing the professionals of the future.

I also highlighted the importance of changing the social perception of vocational training, promoting greater vocational guidance and highlighting its ability to generate real employment and professional development opportunities.

I would like to thank all the attendees, institutions and professionals who participated and enriched the debate with their contributions. A special acknowledgement to the hosts: the Club of Rome, Spanish Chapter, Catalan Group and the la Caixa Foundation, for the invitation and for facilitating such an enriching space for meeting and reflection.

Vocational Training is, without a doubt, an essential lever for the growth and competitiveness of the country, and from our field we will continue working to promote it and position it in the place it deserves.

Let’s continue building dual paths!
