Green DataFP – IDI at EdTech Congress Barcelona: when VET connects digitalisation, sustainability and AI with real impact

I had the opportunity to take part in the Green DataFP – IDI (Ideas / Data / Impact) session at the EdTech Congress Barcelona, an experience that once again shows that Vocational Education and Training (VET) is ready to lead the major challenges of today and the future.

With a clear focus on aligning digitalisation, sustainability and the ethical use of artificial intelligence in VET and Continuing VET, this practical session highlighted something that, as a VET advocate and communicator, I consider essential:
👉 moving from talk to real action.

Through thematic working tables, the teams addressed real challenges from the productive and business environment, transforming them into actionable ideas, based on data and with measurable impact for companies, training centres and the territory.

This approach fully connects with the VET model I have been defending for years:
a useful, applied VET system, closely linked to companies, innovation and the values required by the green and digital transition.

The session was coordinated by:

  • Núria Ferré, VET teacher in the field of Chemistry, Safety and Environment
  • Emiliano Sobel, advisor of the InnovaFP Network

It was moderated by Óscar Secorún, Education Lead at Google for Education, and introduced by Gonzalo Romero, Head of Education Iberia at Google.

Initiatives such as Green DataFP – IDI clearly show that VET not only trains professionals, but is also capable of generating real solutions for the productive sector, placing technology, sustainability and ethics at the core of training strategies.

Because the true value of VET lies not only in what we teach, but in how we connect learning with the real challenges of our society.
