Fermax, a Spanish manufacturer with over 75 years of experience and a leader in video intercom, access control, and connected home solutions, has chosen Telefónica Tech as its technology partner to provide IoT connectivity to its 4G Connect door stations in Spain, as well as in other European countries such as France and Portugal.
Telefónica’s digital business unit is implementing its IoT connectivity solution, managed from its Kite platform, to allow Fermax to have complete visibility and centralized, real-time, remote control over all its door stations connected via SIM cards.
Telefónica Tech has already provided connectivity to more than 27,000 Fermax door stations to ensure communication with 4G mobile networks by integrating a non-removable SIM-IoT card into the stations.
Ángel Sánchez, Business Development Director at Fermax, states: “This agreement is part of Fermax’s strategy to promote connected access solutions, supported by reliable and managed IoT connectivity. Having a technology partner like Telefónica Tech allows us to operate our fleet of 4G Connect panels centrally, scale with confidence, and establish a solid foundation for the development of new digital services, both for end users and other stakeholders in the ecosystem.”
Juan José González Menaya, Head of IoT Connectivity at Telefónica Tech, affirms: “Thanks to our IoT connectivity, Fermax video intercom systems become connected devices that offer a much more convenient and secure user experience, allowing them to interact with their home or building from anywhere, for example, by remotely opening the door from their mobile phone. At the same time, our Kite platform allows Fermax to centrally manage and monitor all connected installations, ensuring optimal operation and anticipating potential issues before they impact service.”
Fermax has set a goal of exceeding 100,000 connected door entry panels by 2030, with a growth rate of between 15,000 and 20,000 installations per year starting in 2026.

Features of the 4G Connect Door Entry Panels
Connected video intercom systems with IoT technology guarantee more efficient, convenient, and secure access management for individuals, businesses, and residential communities. Telefónica Tech’s technology allows Fermax and its network of installers to remotely monitor, manage, and maintain all these connected installations in real time through its MyConnect platform. This optimizes service delivery, detects and resolves issues more quickly (often without requiring on-site technician visits), and enhances communication security.
Meanwhile, residents of buildings with a Fermax 4G Connect entry panel simply need to download the DuoxMe app to see who is at their video intercom, interact with the person trying to access the building, and open the door remotely from anywhere using their mobile phone. Encrypted communications and controlled access ensure the privacy of interactions and prevent unauthorized entry.
This system promotes security and intrusion prevention. Thanks to IoT connectivity, the user will receive a notification when someone rings the doorbell and can visually identify and speak with the person without opening the door, using high-quality audio and video, simulating that someone is always home.
