From 2026, BAXI will be the brand under which all solutions previously offered by Hitecsa will be marketed.

  • BAXI, part of the Dutch group BDR Thermea, becomes a powerful global provider of climate control solutions for all types of commercial and industrial buildings, such as airports, hospitals, hotels, supermarkets, and shops.
  • In 2021, BAXI acquired Hitecsa with the aim of successfully meeting the growing demand for both domestic air-to-water and air-to-air heat pumps and large-scale installations.

Madrid, November 18, 2025 – BAXI was already a highly relevant and prestigious player in the climate control market until 2021. From the moment it acquired Hitecsa, the company took a giant leap forward, complementing its offering and enabling it to provide more tailored solutions for all types of commercial and industrial buildings, such as airports, hospitals, hotels, supermarkets, and shops.

Various studies predict that, by 2030, the demand for air-to-water and air-to-air heat pump solutions, for both residential and large-scale installations, will increase sixfold, reaching a level projected to continue until 2034.

To meet this challenge with the necessary guarantees, BAXI decided in 2021 to acquire Hitecsa, a company traditionally known in the market for offering comprehensive climate control solutions for large facilities, encompassing R&D, manufacturing, and extensive pre-sales support. Hitecsa contributed its production plant in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona), where its headquarters were located, to BAXI. BAXI has committed to its continued operation, ensuring that this center remains a cornerstone of the brand and is fully aligned with the company’s growth objectives.

One Team, One Goal

“The HVAC market is growing rapidly, and at BDR Thermea Iberia, we are prepared to meet this challenge,” says Joan Blanch, the top representative of the Dutch-owned company in Spain and Portugal.

Blanch adds, “We are facing the need to decarbonize the current building stock, not only from a sustainability perspective but also due to the urgent need to reduce the cost of building climate control. Having the full range of necessary products now allows us to offer the complete spectrum of technologies that can help society meet this major challenge.”

Finally, Joan Blanch, Managing Director of BDR Thermea Iberia, explains, “We are very pleased with how the process of creating a single brand has been carried out by everyone over the last four years, culminating today. People, the human factor, have always been at the heart of our decisions. Now we are one team with a single goal.”
