Just a few days before the start of the major European Vocational Training competition, EuroSkills Herning 2025, in Herning, Denmark, the excitement is palpable.
The Spanish Vocational Training team is finalizing preparations, packing their bags, and honing their skills for an experience that will mark their lives.

I will have the honor of joining this expedition along with their team of students and teachers. From here, I want to start by encouraging them and wishing them the best of luck!

This event is much more than a competition. It is part of a 75-year-old movement: WorldSkills, born to unite young people from different countries through technical excellence and a shared purpose. Since its first international edition in Madrid in 1953, WorldSkills has demonstrated that skills development can foster a more peaceful, sustainable, and cooperative world.
In the words of Frederick Hill, one of its pioneers, spoken in 1970 in Tokyo: “Do not try to outdo each other, but rather understand, appreciate, and get to know each other in this great opportunity for friendly rivalry. For the future of the world will depend on youth; the new world is theirs to inherit.”
That spirit lives on today. Competitors from all over Europe meet in Herning to demonstrate their skills in dozens of trades, exchange experiences, and learn from each other. Vocational training (TVET) thus becomes a bridge that transcends borders and builds opportunities for all.
As French President Emmanuel Macron noted in the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 Impact Report, “Organizing WorldSkills was more than a commitment. It was a signal. A signal to young people around the world, to always dare and look to the future with confidence and hope.”
EuroSkills Herning 2025 is exactly that: a signal of confidence in young talent. Spain is coming with a prepared, enthusiastic team, aware that its participation goes beyond medals. They represent the potential of our VET to transform lives and societies.
Go team! The future is built with skills, effort, and cooperation. See you in Herning.
