MAXGE Europe is ahead of the elimination of Class AC RCDs

– Goodbye to AC RCDs: A more electrified future requires Class A RCDs
– Class A increases the security and immunity of installations at a price very similar to the standard.
– The evolution of our society towards electric mobility and digitalisation is unstoppable. We are surrounded by electronics, by equipment that makes our lives easier. But electrical installations have not evolved at the same pace. The digital, connected equipment that we already have in our homes and businesses generate leakage currents – shunts. An alteration that Class AC RCDs are not able to detect and cause untimely trips.

The current electrical regulations in the European Union will undergo an imminent change to avoid the problems caused by AC RCDs. The leakage currents with a continuous component generated by semiconductors – present in countless electronic equipment – have become the future workhorse for electrical installations.

MAXGE Europe, in line with other European manufacturers, is already anticipating the future of electrical regulations by simplifying stock to meet demand: A single reference instead of two: Class A.

With all this, MAXGE is taking a pioneering step: a necessary change due to the increase in electrification and the use of Smart electronic devices. By installing Class A differentials, value and guarantee are provided to installers and distributors who take the step now.

In Europe there are already countries such as Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and others that have already banned the sale and use of Class AC differentials.

In Spain, change is imminent: the Ministry of Industry and Tourism is already working on the modification of the Low Voltage Electrotechnical Regulation, REBT, to prohibit AC differentials.

MAXGE Europe, aware of the impact that breaking the routine of installing Class AC will have, will adapt its prices to facilitate technological change and the normalisation of the use of Class A. An innovative range of products that complements the entire portfolio of MAXGE solutions, such as the A+G, F or B differential range, and in a wide variety of formats, both in differential protection exclusively, as well as in combined equipment or intelligent protections.
