7P Series: Finder’s solution to protect your facilities against power outages and surges

During power outages—whether due to extreme weather events, network overloads, or infrastructure failures—protecting electrical systems becomes crucial to prevent damage and ensure operational continuity.

During these interruptions, and especially when power is restored, dangerous surges can occur, capable of seriously damaging electronic equipment and entire installations. In response to this reality, Finder highlights its 7P Series of surge protectors (SPDs), an advanced solution designed to prevent electrical damage in industrial environments, guaranteeing operational safety, service continuity, and equipment integrity against any network anomaly.

The 7P Series encompasses a wide range of Class I, II, and III SPDs, suitable for applications in single-phase and three-phase systems, as well as data lines and LED lighting. Thanks to their construction with varistors (MOVs) combined with spark gaps (GDTs) and galvanic isolation between phases, these devices guarantee a long service life and the absence of ground fault currents, drastically reducing the risk of failures and maintenance costs.

Total protection in industrial and renewable energy applications
Designed to protect photovoltaic inverters, motors, and control and measurement systems, the 7P Series covers both the direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) sides, allowing for complete energy system coverage. Key features include:

  • Type 7P.02 and 7P.04: Type 1+2 SPDs, single-phase and three-phase, with no ground fault currents.
  • Type 7P.22 and 7P.24: Type 2 SPDs for standard installations with optional remote contact for monitoring operating status.
  • Class I + II SPDs: Compact and efficient, ideal for protection at the point of entry of the installation.

Specific Solutions for Electric Mobility
In response to the growing demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, Finder offers devices such as the Type 7P.02 (Type 1+2 SPD) and the Type 7P.22 (Type 2 SPD), especially suited for single-phase systems, ensuring service continuity and protecting charging stations from voltage spikes.
Specialized Protection for LED Luminaires and Data Lines
The 7P Series also includes specific solutions such as:

  • Type 7P.32.8.275.0005: A compact, pre-wired Type 3 SPD, ideal for protecting LED luminaires and sensitive electronic circuits, with LED varistor status indicator.
  • Type 7P.68.9.060.0600: Designed for Ethernet and PoE lines, compliant with EN 61643-21, it provides low-attenuation protection for all data lines up to 250 MHz. Finder 7P Series surge protectors feature replaceable cartridges with a tamper-proof locking system, remote signaling contacts, and 35 mm DIN rail mounting, compliant with EN 60715. This system simplifies installation, monitoring, and replacement, optimizing maintenance time.

  • Finder 7P Series surge protectors are specifically designed to safeguard electrical installations in industrial environments, preventing damage caused by network anomalies such as surges or spikes. Thanks to their robust cartridge retention system, the devices remain firmly in place even under strong vibrations. They also incorporate remote contact signaling for real-time monitoring of the varistor’s status and allow for quick and easy cartridge replacement, facilitating maintenance without affecting system operation.

  • Compliant with EN 61643-11:2012, the 7P Series represents Finder’s comprehensive solution for protecting residential, commercial, and industrial installations against surges of any origin. A reliable, versatile, and easy-to-maintain range for safe and efficient installations.
