On April 1, 2025, I had the honor of presenting my book “Building Dual Paths” to the students of the ISMAB Training Center in Barcelona. It was an enriching day in which we were able to reflect on the importance of Vocational Training (VT) as a driver of opportunities and professional growth.
A Meeting with Leading Figures in VET:
For this presentation, I was accompanied by two leading professionals who, in their respective areas, have championed VET and the development of young talent:
🛠 Rafael Criado, Area Sales Manager at FERMAX, a Made in Spain company that has demonstrated a firm commitment to VET, supporting not only students but also the creation of this book. His vision of the collaboration between business and VET is key to understanding the future of the sector.
🏫 Josep Ramon Domingo, Director of ISMAB, a professional who leads with passion and commitment, offering his students real opportunities for growth. ISMAB is a benchmark in training and, under his leadership, continues to make a difference in the educational landscape.
Talking about VET, employability, and the future:
During the session, we shared experiences and discussed the fundamental role of VET in society. We highlighted how the new Vocational Training Law opens the door to more dual models, in which business and education work together to train the professionals of tomorrow.
Some key points we covered were:
✔️ The need to continue promoting VET as a first-class option.
📈 The importance of companies’ involvement in student training.
💻 How technology and digitalization are transforming the sector and generating new job opportunities.
🎯 The value of career guidance in helping young people make informed decisions about their future.
A day to remember:
The students’ response was impressive. Their questions, concerns, and desire to learn demonstrated a great interest in better understanding the opportunities offered by vocational training. It’s a reminder that we are on the right path and that, as a society, we must continue working to give vocational training the recognition it deserves.
I am deeply grateful to the ISMAB team for their welcome, to FERMAX for their support, and to all the students who participated. We continue to build dual pathways! 🚧
