Hello everyone!
Today I want to share with you an enriching experience that I recently had at the IES Antonio Machado in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid. This centre, officially opened in March 1967 as the “Universidad Laboral”, is a true colossus in the field of vocational training in Spain. With its impressive number of students and an exceptional teaching staff, it has earned the title of the largest Training Centre in Spain in terms of enrolment and teaching staff.
From the moment I set foot in this emblematic place, masterfully guided by VÃctor GarcÃa, head of the Installation and Maintenance Department, under the supervision of its director Javier MartÃnez, I was fascinated by the training offered by the IES Antonio Machado. As a disseminator of Vocational Training (FP), I am always looking for centres that stand out for their educational quality and variety of programmes, and I can say with certainty that this centre is a true treasure in the Spanish educational landscape.
The diversity of training cycles available is simply impressive. From technical to artistic areas, through health and business, IES Antonio Machado has something for all interests and passions. But what really caught my attention was the commitment of the teaching team to provide a quality education that prepares students for the world of work.
During my visit, I was able to interact with some students and teachers, and their enthusiasm and dedication towards teaching was palpable in every conversation. It is not surprising that this center is recognized not only nationally, but also internationally, for its academic excellence and its innovative approach to training future professionals.
Without a doubt, my time at IES Antonio Machado has been pleasant and motivating. It has reminded me of the importance of Vocational Training as a fundamental pillar in the construction of a more capable and competitive society in the labor market. I would especially like to thank VÃctor GarcÃa and the entire team at the center for their warm welcome and for their tireless work in training future generations.
