This week I had the privilege of sharing a conversation with the students of the Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle in Electricity at the Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Otero Vocational Training Center in the La Latina neighborhood of Madrid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A direct, unfiltered encounter, discussing the trade, the realities of the sector, and, above all, its enormous professional potential. The electrical trade: present and future<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electrical sector is not just cables and panels. It’s:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u26a1 Energy transition
\u26a1 Digitalization
\u26a1 Automation
\u26a1 Efficiency and sustainability
\u26a1 Critical infrastructure<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today more than ever, the market needs qualified professionals. And it needs them to be well-trained, committed, and with a growth mindset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the conversation, we discussed something fundamental:
the trade is not just a job opportunity, it’s a career with a long future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technical Specialization<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certifications<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrepreneurship<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evolution towards automation, renewables, or energy management<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growth towards technical, sales, or management positions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The limit isn’t set by the degree, it’s set by the attitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The importance of collaboration between companies and educational institutions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of this would be possible without the involvement of the business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would especially like to thank MAXGE, an electrical equipment manufacturer, whose support fosters a closer connection between product, technology, and professional practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, of course, the head of studies, Ricardo Herv\u00e1s, for opening the doors of the center and supporting these kinds of initiatives that connect training and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promoting Vocational Training is a responsibility<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a promoter of Vocational Training, I am clear that we need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2714 More role models in the field
\u2714 Stronger connections between companies and classrooms
\u2714 Greater professional pride
\u2714 Greater visibility of technical talent<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vocational Training is not a plan B. It is the technical engine that sustains our economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to the students for their attitude, their questions, and their interest. There’s a bright future here. A very bright one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
