Vocational Education and Training is experiencing a decisive moment. More and more young people are discovering that VET is not only a pathway to employment but also a journey of personal growth, self-esteem, and professional development. A few days ago, I had the privilege of sharing this vision in an inspiring session with middle-level and PFI students from the Institut Tecnol\u00f2gic de Barcelona (ITB)<\/strong>, thanks to the collaboration of FERMAX<\/strong>, a company deeply committed to talent development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ITB: A young centre that has become a benchmark in Catalonia and Spain<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Located in Nou Barris<\/strong>, the ITB has built, in just eight years, a strong identity founded on innovation, quality, and a solid commitment to technological education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its director, Alberto Vila<\/strong>, was recently awarded the Medal of Honour of the City of Barcelona<\/strong>, a recognition of his leadership and vision. Vila is, without doubt, the driving force behind a project that has positioned ITB at the forefront of technology education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of its flagship initiatives is \u201cNuvulet\u201d<\/strong>, an in-house data center<\/em> and internal cloud<\/strong>, designed as a real training environment for students.
The centre has also been recognised as a Centre of Excellence<\/strong>, among many other distinctions, consolidating its role as one of the great assets of the Barcelona Education Consortium<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FERMAX: A company truly committed to VET<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My participation was made possible through the collaboration with FERMAX<\/strong>, a leading company in communication and access solutions. Its commitment to VET is tangible and aligned with the needs of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, we share the conviction that investing in today\u2019s learners is the best way to strengthen tomorrow\u2019s industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A session to reinforce self-esteem and the true value of skilled professions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the session, I highlighted three key ideas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. VET has prestige, relevance and a promising future.<\/strong>
    Technical and practical profiles are increasingly in demand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. All professions and trades have immense value.<\/strong>
    Progress depends on skilled professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Self-esteem is essential.<\/strong>
    Believing in one\u2019s abilities is the foundation for building a solid professional future.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    My small contribution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    I left ITB with the satisfaction of having contributed \u2014even modestly\u2014 to inspiring young people who represent the next generation of technicians, professionals and innovators. A rewarding experience that reaffirms the importance of strengthening VET for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
